I Can't Afford A Health Coach
If you can't afford a health coach, you might miss out on personalized guidance and accountability for your health goals
You can still make positive changes by utilizing free resources like online health information, fitness apps, community support groups, and potentially consulting with your primary care physician for basic health advice.
It's that time of year that many of us start focusing on goals for the new year. You may be researching weight loss programs, exercise classes, gyms to join and maybe even a Health Coach. My personal 2025 goal is simple. I am focusing on these statements:
- I am someone who prioritizes my health
- I am someone who moves my body daily
- I am someone who takes care of my mental well-being
I am excited to step out of my comfort zone and I've joined a Barre Pilates class! One main reason for joining the class is to promote a brick and mortar YMCA being built in my town but also the price of the 6 week course was $40! How amazing is that? As a Health Coach myself, I recognize how expensive healthy living options can be. One of the reasons why I don't do health coaching is because I can't figure out how to price it. I don't really agree with the programs that Health Coaches offer because we are all so different from one another. One program does not fit all! More importantly, the pricing seems, in all honesty, ridiculous. AND that is why I wrote Sitting With Your Mind and it's follow up Sitting With Your Mind Health Habits Work Book. They literally allow you to be your own Health Coach. I call it DO-IT-YOURSELF Health Coaching!
I invite you to purchase my books and see if they don't help you transform your life. Below is some additional help for you to reach your goals in 2025! I also want to point out that I will always be available to answer questions you may have about the information I have in my books. You can text me or meet me in person at my office. I do offer One-on-One Health Coaching for $75 an hour, the initial visit is FREE. My hope is to one day have a small group in-person offering for weight loss support and accountability.
Self-education:
Read reliable health articles and books: Access information from reputable sources like government health websites, medical journals, or well-regarded health organizations. I suggest anything by Dr. Mark Hyman.
Download fitness apps:
Many apps offer free workout plans, nutrition tracking, and motivational features.
Watch educational videos:
Utilize online platforms with credible health experts for informative content. I have never done Barre Pilates and am watching videos on YouTube so that I understand the workouts better!
Community support:
Join a fitness class - Many gyms offer affordable group fitness classes.
Find a walking or running group - Participating in a group activity can provide motivation and accountability.
Connect with friends and family - Share your health goals with loved ones for encouragement.
Healthcare provider consultation:
Talk to your doctor - Discuss your health concerns and potential lifestyle changes with your primary care physician.
Ask about nutrition counseling - Some clinics may offer registered dietitian consultations.
Important points to remember:
Start small - Don't try to overhaul your lifestyle completely at once. Begin with small, manageable changes that gradually build towards your goals.
Be consistent - Regularity is key to achieving sustainable results.
Track your progress - Monitor your habits and outcomes to identify areas for improvement.
